Recent Work by Tim Brown
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 7, 2010, 6-9
The Writers Place is pleased to be showing Floodplain Refugee Housing, Kansas City 2050-2100 a series of architectural renderings on large format Xerox by native Kansas City artist, Tim Brown. The exhibition will be on view July 7th -Sept 27, 2010. The Writers Place will host a reception Saturday, August 7, 2010, 6-9 pm.
Brown is a B.F.A. graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. In his spare time he does research on demountable housing. The architectural drawings on display are from a probable world 40 years in the future when many people may be displaced due to rising tides. There is an intentional lack of preciousness as these works are not fancy objects of boutique design shops, but engineering solutions to real problems.
Located at 3607 Pennsylvania, The Writers Place is a literary community center, library, and gathering place for writers, readers and the general public.
