How To Add Your Name

If you would like to be listed in the online directory, complete the application form (PDF or Word) and mail to The Writers Place, along with a check for fees. Please pay separately for required membership in The Writers Place.

PART 1. LISTINGS: Nonfiction, Creative Writing, Writing Support Services

• The Directory will list writers by areas of specialization: Nonfiction, Creative Writing, and Writing Support Services. Freelancers may choose to be included in one section ($40), two sections ($60) or three sections ($80) payable annually.
• Freelancers may choose to be listed in up to three categories within each section. In order to make the directory as usable as possible, editors will delete excess categories.

PART 2. WRITER’S PROFESSIONAL PROFILE: This part of the application will allow you to personalize your listing with contact information and areas of expertise.

• PROFESSIONAL PROFILE. Use a maximum of 60 words for Professional EXPERIENCE and SPECIALIZATION combined.
• Profiles that exceed the maximum word limit will be edited at the discretion of the editors.
• For examples of a professional profile, see examples at the profiles in the online directory.

PART 3. PERSONAL STATEMENT. Use a maximum of 25 words. This part allows you to personalize your application.

PART 4. FEES

• THEWRITERS PLACE. To be listed in the online Directory, you must be a current member of THE WRITERS PLACE.
• DIRECTORY of FREELANCE WRITERS. You must pay an additional annual fee of $40-$80 to be included in the Directory for one year.

PART 5. MAILING INFORMATION

Mail fees and completed forms to THE WRITERS PLACE, 3607 Pennsylvania, Kansas City, MO 64111.

LISTINGS ARE EFFECTIVE FOR ONE YEAR AND RENEWABLE ANNUALLY.

NEW LISTINGS ARE ADDED QUARTERLY.
