Workshop: Write Livelihood with Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg

  • The Writers Place (map)

Join poet and writer, and Kansas poet laureate emeritus Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg for an exploration on how you can make a living as a writer while serving your community, conversing with your calling, and living true to your writer-self. Along with a talk about ways to create your own work, appropriate education and training, connecting with your community, and designing and assessing your projects, Caryn will share short, engaging writing prompts to help you recover or discover more about your heart's desire when it comes to making a living. She'll also talk about her 20 years of experience doing this work, and the experience of others around the world today, who are developing the field and profession of Transformative Language Arts, which focuses on social and personal transformation through the written, spoken and sung word. All participants will receive an ample packet with plenty of exercises and plans on how to create your own right (and write) livelihood.
