Riverfront Readings St. Valentine's Day Massacre Poetry Open Mic

This annual open mic event includes a silent auction, with proceeds benefitting the Philip Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund.

In honor of Philip Miller's dedication to students, young writers are encouraged to participate. Featured young readers are James Benger and Tabatha Washington. Music performed by Anne Bettis and Saffie Bettis.

Artwork auctioned off includes works by Philip Miller, Janice Atkins, Conci Denniston, Dave Paarmann, and Strawberry Hill artist Marijana Grisnik.

Snow Date: Sunday, Feb. 22, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Open Mic Guidelines:
Two poems per reader
Themes: The poetry of Phil Miller, or poems on love, hate and relationships.

About the Scholarship:
In honor of the late Philip W. Miller, each year $500 is awarded to an English or creative writing student in the Humanities Department of Kansas City Kansas Community College.
